Our story
We are a specialist Single Family BTR company that offers the full range of investment, development and management solutions.
Although located in Nottingham, we have operatives in all regions where we manage properties, and pride ourselves in offering all our services via our in-house employees. This strengthens tenant relationships and improves client satisfaction.
We support our staff development through training and qualifications with the relevant professional associations such as RICS and Propertymark.

Our aim is to revolutionise the build to rent sector by challenging existing standards, creating and nurturing communities, and ultimately, driving better living standards for tenants.

A Founding Director of First Direct and later CEO of the FTSE 250 innovator Egg plc, he returned in 2006 to drive SDL Group’s expansion, growing it into a £120m turnover, £12m EBITDA business employing 650 people. A recognised entrepreneur, honoured by both EY and Lloyds Bank, he has founded and led multiple successful start-ups. He co-founded and now chairs Enable Group, focused on tackling fuel poverty by improving residential energy efficiency. Most recently, he led the successful MBO of Wise Living Group and, as Chair, is committed to realising its potential to deliver high quality, affordable rental homes for tenants and investors across the UK.

A seasoned property professional, specialising for the past 15 years in SFH BTR sector. Throughout his 30-year career, Paul’s expertise has supported the inception and launch of the brands Simple Life and Live Different, as well as being instrumental to securing close to £2 billion of institutional investment for a variety of clients, including Wise Living - one of the UK’s largest providers of high quality purpose-built SFH BTR developments for the private rental sector.

Mark became a pivotal member of the team in 2019, where he now plays a crucial role in clarifying financial reporting responsibilities to institutional investors. Additionally, Mark has been instrumental in implementing robust investment appraisal processes and providing comprehensive oversight for the business.

Attaining his qualification as a Chartered Surveyor in 2016, during his tenure with a nationally recognised surveying firm. Subsequently, he advanced his career by joining a consultancy in the Midlands as a Development Surveyor. Mark provides expert advice to Build-to-Rent (BTR) investors, skilfully identifying potential sites, conducting thorough development appraisals, and orchestrating deals to facilitate the launch of various development projects.

A Chartered Construction Manager with 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He joined in 2019 and now leads the Development Team, providing both pre and post contract services for single-family home BTR schemes. He works closely with housebuilders and development partners to oversee the delivery of new schemes – from finalising commercial and contractual terms through to monitoring construction progress as the Client’s representative and ensuring the successful handover of completed units to the asset team. Andy has collaborated with a wide range of clients and funders, including Wise Living Homes, one of the UK’s largest providers of high quality, purpose built single family BTR developments for the private rental sector.

With over 25 years’ experience in operations and asset management across traditional lettings and the Build-to-Rent sector. Since joining in 2016, she has played a key role in developing our operational model, supporting its growth from a small portfolio to thousands of homes while maintaining strong asset performance and a resident-first approach. Charlotte oversees the full rental lifecycle, builds scalable, high-performing teams, and helps shape the company’s future through digital innovation, service excellence, and a strong focus on people and culture.

Ryan leads the lettings and field operations teams, with responsibility for minimising void periods and delivering excellent customer service for both landlords and applicants. Their role also includes overseeing property reports, site inspections and asset standards, ensuring developments are well maintained and consistently delivered to a high quality.

Her role balances creative work with data driven decision making.

With 25 years at SDL and over 15 years’ experience in the property management and finance sector, Amy brings extensive expertise in financial oversight and operational compliance. She is highly skilled in creating, monitoring, and maintaining budgets, forecasting future financial requirements, and identifying potential risks to ensure long-term business stability. Amy’s role also involves ensuring full compliance across certifications, financial reconciliations, and regulatory requirements, as well as managing supplier and client payments efficiently and accurately to maintain strong professional relationships and smooth day-to-day operations.

With 20 years’ experience in the property industry, mainly in the rental sector, Emma now leads the Leasing and Property Management function. She oversees the day-to-day management of our portfolio, ensuring compliance with service standards, from tenancy agreements to reactive and planned maintenance. She also monitors and reports KPIs and supports Team Leaders with escalated issues to maintain a high-quality service.
